Macauley Nolan - QLD Secondary Schools Touch 16-18 Year Boys Team

In September of 2022 one of our region's young athletes, Macauley Nolan, competed in the Queensland Secondary Schools Touch 16-18 Years Boys Team representing Queensland. 

Funding from the Individual Excellence Program went towards helping Macauley attend the event, held at the Sunshine Coast Stadium in Bokarina. The team won all six of their matches in the first few days of the competition before winning the Grand Final at the 2022 National Youth Championships. The team defeated the Brisbane Cobras 8-3, with Macauley playing all games throughout the carnival, up to and including the Grand Final. 

We congratulate Macauley Nolan on the hard work and sportsmanship that helped his team secure victory.  

In addition to his success in the Queensland Secondary Schools Touch Team, Macauley was the successful recipient of the Dalby & District Local Sports Award in the Western Downs Regional Council 2023 Australia Day Awards. 

The Individual Excellence Program celebrates and supports individuals (or teams) for their excellence in their chosen field. This program assists individuals residing in the Western Downs Regional Council area who are performing or competing at a national or international level.
