A traineeship or apprenticeship with Western Downs Regional Council is the perfect way to 'Kickstart Your Career'.
Council is committed to providing workforce development opportunities for locals in the region as part of its Early Career Program.
The program equips participants with practical skills and experience that pave the way for long-term career success in the region.
Applications for the 2026 ‘Kickstart Your Career’ traineeships and apprenticeships are now open and will close on Friday 15 August 2025. Successful applicants are set to begin in February 2026.
How to Apply
1) Navigate to Council's 'Current Vacancies' page by clicking the button above.
2) Ensure your Cover Letter and Resume is up to date before submitting an application.
3) Use the 'Search' bar to enter your preferred role. You can use the filters on the left to narrow your search.
4) Read through the advertisement and supporting attachments available.
5) Click the 'Apply' button and proceed to follow the online prompts.
Applicants who experience difficulties with submitting their application can visit a Western Downs Library branch for technology assistance.
