April 2023 saw Dalby bustling with excitement in the lead up to the Dalby & District Show Society's World Record Attempt.

Funding from the Destination Events Program went towards equipment used at the event, as well as the cost of the adjudicators from The Australian Book of Records who travelled from Victoria to officiate the record attempts.

The two-day event drew a crowd of over 10,000 people, who were not only given a chance to witness this excellent feat by those involved in the attempt, also enjoyed a day of rural, historical, and agricultural importance to the Dalby community.

3,500 of these attendants were from outside of the Western Downs region, instead hailing from Toowoomba, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Bundaberg, and Hervey Bay, with some participants travelling from interstate. This surge in visitors brought a need for accommodation, food, and materials for participant's engines, which in turn contributed to a boost in the local economy.

We would like to congratulate the Dalby Show Society on a truly excellent event, and the continual effort that they have put into providing captivating experiences for locals, as well as their efforts into broadcasting the hospitality of the Dalby Region.
