On 12 September 2024, The Dalby Welcoming Community accomplished their "Heart of Dalby" project.

90 hearts were distributed to Dalby community groups, schools, sporting teams, businesses, families and individuals with participants asked to illustrate what they believe the "heart" of Dalby is.

Funding from the Regional Arts Development Fund Program went towards engaging the artist Jane Hoffman to coordinate the project and host multiple workshops to encourage the community to express their creativity and connectedness through decorating their hearts.

The completed hearts were unveiled at the R U OK day event hosted at the Dalby Leagues Club with the focus on the importance of looking out for others not just on R U OK Day, but every day.

Whilst all hearts were varied and unique, the one resounding theme was the pride that the Dalby community has for their region. Even the heavy rain on the day did not dampen the spirits of the attendees.
