Standard Drawings
Western Downs Regional Council implements a number of standards and specifications in regards to civil design and utilities. Council's Infrastructure Services Division have utilised these standard drawings over many years and these have been made available for the benefit of the public.
The purpose of these drawings is to provide typical standard details. All care has been taken to ensure the accuracy of these drawings, however, in the case of any discrepancies, please contact Council to discuss.
The fit for purpose of these drawings for a specific project shall be determined and certified by a RPEQ engineer. Project specific details may be required to be included in the scheme drawings.
Copyright of these drawings is vested with Western Downs Regional Council.

WATER SERVICES DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION CODE
The purpose of this specification is to establish a consistent framework for the planning, design, and construction of water supply infrastructure within the Western Downs Regional Council area.
WDRC has adopted the South East Queensland (SEQ) amendments to the Water Services Association of Australia (WSAA) Water Supply Code of Australia WSA03–2011 as the primary technical basis for water infrastructure delivery. This document supplements those requirements by defining Council-specific amendments, clarifications, approved practices, and local infrastructure requirements applicable to the WDRC region.
This specification is intended to:
- Provide clear and consistent technical requirements for developers, consultants, and contractors
- Ensure all new water infrastructure is compatible with Council’s operational and asset management objectives
- Promote consistency in infrastructure delivery across the region
- Support whole-of-life asset performance, maintainability, and operational efficiency
- Establish the minimum standards required for infrastructure intended to be accepted by Council
