Council advises that water main renewal works have commenced on Fry Street, Tara, as part of the Western Downs Regional Council Water Main Upgrade Works. Construction for stage one will run from 20 May 2026 to 27 May 2026.
Stage one works will be located from the existing hydrant near Fry Street, extending south towards the Milne Street intersection. During these works the school bus stop will be temporarily located to the southern side of the works area, before the hydrant location on Fry Street.
Traffic controllers will be in place during work hours, reduced speed limits will apply throughout the work zone, expect delays.
Council thanks motorists for their patience and reminds all road users to travel carefully through the work area.
The works will be completed in two stages to minimise disruption to residents and traffic in affected areas, with the commencement of stage two works to be advised prior to commencement of these works.
