Chinchilla Weir is a longstanding recreational spot which is popular among local residents and travellers alike. Council's revamp will focus on improving the overall amenity of the area by upgrading facilities and enhancing the area's natural landscape. These works will further enhance the much-loved area and encourage more people to head outdoors and enjoy all the region has to offer, while also offering opportunities for people to visit our local towns, stimulate the economy, and experience all the great things the Western Downs has to offer. Key Features: Upgrade to day use area Landscaping Fire pits New bin enclosures Vehicle barriers Shelters BBQs Camp kitchen New interpretation signage Upgrades to overnight camping areas Project Status: Underway - Construction Phase Stage Outlines Construction contract was awarded in December, 2020 with works to commence in January, 2021.
