The much-loved annual Drive-In Movie event is returning to the Western Downs in August with free screenings of the family film 'IF' coming to the towns of Dulacca, Jandowae Tara and Kogan.

Council invites residents to share flood stories and data

Western Downs Regional Council is undertaking updated flood studies across major towns in the region and is calling on the community to provide historical flood information to inform improved flood modelling and mapping.

Wildflowering By Design at the Dogwood Crossing

02 August 2025

‘Wildflowering By Design is a vibrant new exhibition blooming into life at the Dogwood Crossing from 26 July to 13 September. Curated by Dr Sue Davis and Dr. Lisa Chandler, there will be works by artists from across Queensland in the John Mullins Memorial Gallery, while the Curved Wall space will shine a spotlight on the talents of local Western Downs artists.

Council is preparing to deliver several construction projects over the next few years, including the future Dalby Cultural Centre. These sessions aim to inform local contractors and suppliers of Council's tender processes.

Families across the Western Downs are invited to enjoy a night of nostalgia and fun under the stars as the Regional Drive-In Movie series returns this August with free outdoor screenings of the heartwarming family film IF, starring Ryan Reynolds.

Road closure for Sandalwood Ave West Dalby

On display until 07 August 2025

Council wishes to advise that Sandalwood Ave West in Dalby will be closed to all traffic from August 2025.

The works are estimated to be completed by November 2025.

Road closure for Wilds Road Dalby

On display until 07 August 2025

Council wishes to advise that Wilds Road in Dalby is closed as roadworks have started.

The works are estimated to be completed by December 2025. The road will remain open to all property owners.

Wandoan War Memorial Racing and Recreational Reserve Closure

On display until 08 August 2025

Please be advised that the Wandoan War Memorial Racing and Recreational Reserve (Wandoan showgrounds) will be closed 1 July to 8 August 2025 due to electrical upgrades to the whole grounds.
