Advice to Travellers - Foot and Mouth Disease

On Display Indefinitely

The Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) has issued advice to travellers from Indonesia (including Bali) to be biosecurity aware.

Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) has been detected in Indonesia. While Australia is currently free of FMD, an outbreak in Australia could devastate the livestock industry.

Travellers are advised to clean dirty shoes, clothes and equipment before returning to Australia and to complete incoming passenger declarations truthfully.

For more information visit the DAF website.

If you suspect an exotic disease, including FMD, in your livestock please immediately contact the Emergency Animal Disease Watch Hotline on 1800 675 888.
