Western Downs Regional Council is inviting residents to embrace the excitement of Opera at Jimbour, with free entry markets to take place at the magnificent Jimbour House as part as part of Queensland Music Trails

The markets will be held on Saturday, 6 May from 9am to 4pm and will feature something for everyone with a diverse mix of vendors, products, and local entertainment on offer.

Council Spokesperson for Tourism, Events and Regional Promotion Councillor Kylie Bourne said the markets, which are open to the public, was a brilliant addition in enhancing attendees' opera experience.

"The free markets mean that even if you do not have tickets to Opera at Jimbour, you can still head to this beautiful location and enjoy a fantastic day out,” Cr Bourne said.

"Bringing everyone together for a jam-packed day of delectable food, drink, and entertainment is a fantastic way to highlight our community, and we are thrilled to welcome QLD Music Trails to the magnificent Jimbour House from Friday, 5 May.

"The markets will be a hub of activity and excitement, offering a wide range of things to do and see. From browsing unique and handcrafted items to indulging in delicious food, live music, performers, and other forms of entertainment while soaking up the vibrant atmosphere.”

Opera at Jimbour is just one of the many stops for the QLD Music Trails events, with its biggest program of opera and chamber music yet across three days of incredible performances, tours, camping experiences, and more.

Cr Bourne said this year's Opera at Jimbour will be yet another stellar musical event for the region.

"We are excited to welcome the QMF's QLD Music Trails event and highlight the people and places that make our region special,” she said.

“I encourage everyone to head to the QLD Music Trails website to find out more about this wonderful experience, and I hope to see everyone out at Jimbour House between the 5th and 7th of May.”
