Contractors selected to deliver massive redevelopment of MyALL107

Major construction will soon commence on a $14 million redevelopment of MyALL107 cultural precinct at Dalby, with Western Downs Regional Council endorsing the successful contractors to deliver the landmark project.
FK Gardner & Sons has been selected to complete the project, which will transform the precinct and create another premier destination for the region.
Western Downs Regional Council Mayor Paul McVeigh said it was fantastic to see the project progress, with construction soon to commence and be completed by the end of 2022.
“Council is focused on attracting people to live, work, prosper and play in the region and this project is about breathing new life into the MyALL107 cultural precinct and catering to growth in the region,” Cr McVeigh said.
“This redevelopment is going to transform Dalby’s eastern entry point and create a vibrant hub for a variety of cultural activities in the region including Western Downs Libraries, Gallery 107 @ Dalby, Dalby Cinema, and community space.
“Council has already undertaken some preliminary construction work in the car park area, and following the appointment of FK Gardner & Sons, we can now push ahead with the major construction activities on site.
“This project will transform one of our largest regional hubs, boost liveability for residents, and create a stellar destination for visitors to the region.
Federal Member for Maranoa David Littleproud welcomed the announcement, saying it was great to see the MyALL107 redevelopment a step closer to reality.
“Transforming the Dalby Cultural Precinct is going to create jobs and boost out regional community by giving us more ways to learn, enjoy events at the cultural centre and bring additional services much closer to home,” Mr Littleproud said.
“I’m proud to secure $7 million for this project which will go a long way towards improving services, events, facilities, creating jobs and securing our fair share on the Western Downs.”
Construction will commence with general demolition to ancillary building elements and the installation of additional structural reinforcing before the building’s final transformation.
To facilitate the upgrade, Gallery 107 @ Dalby has temporarily moved to the Marble Street Arts Centre. 4DDD Community Radio has moved to the Dalby Showgrounds and the Library has temporarily moved to the Findex Building on Drayton Street. The Dalby Cinema has been closed for the duration of construction.
