Celebrating ten years of laughs on the Western Downs
Published on 20 April 2026
Much-loved comedy series Not Just For Laughs is marking its 10-year anniversary in 2026, bringing some of Australia’s sharpest comedic minds to Dalby, Tara and Miles from 29 to 31 May.
This year's tour will feature Nick Cody and Luke Heggie, serving up big laughs, honest observations and memorable nights out for local audiences, while reinforcing the important role humour plays in mental wellbeing and community connection.
Western Downs Regional Councillor for Community and Cultural Development Councillor Peter Saxelby said the milestone anniversary was worth celebrating loudly, preferably in a packed room full of laughter.
“For 10 years, Not Just For Laughs has proven that a good laugh can go a long way,” Cr Saxelby said.
“These nights are about letting your guard down, catching up with mates, and remembering that it’s okay to switch off for a couple of hours and enjoy yourself.
"As a Council, we’re committed to supporting wellbeing in practical, community-driven ways.
"Not Just For Laughs continues to reflect Council’s commitment to strengthening community spirit, encouraging meaningful connection, and supporting the wellbeing of Western Downs residents through shared experiences and by having a bit of fun together.”
Nick Cody, known for his quick wit and relatable storytelling, and Luke Heggie, known for his razor-sharp delivery and unapologetically dry take on everyday life, will take to the stage in Dalby, Tara, and Miles.
These nights will also see presentations from TradeMutt a Queensland wellbeing advocate, helping connect residents with ongoing support in a relaxed and approachable way.
Audiences are encouraged to secure their free tickets to the adult only event, by registering early to avoid missing out on what has become one of the Western Downs’ most popular and anticipated community events.
"If you’re in the area and don’t come to this, Nick Cody will find you, give you a crow peck and a wedgie, and then eat your lunch. I’ll try to stop him, but he's bigger than me,” Luke Heggie said.
