Wandoan Sewerage Treatment Plant Upgrade
Council, in alignment with its statutory obligations and long-term planning objectives, is undertaking an expansion to the existing Wandoan Effluent Irrigation Network.
The purpose of the Wandoan Effluent Irrigation Project is to establish a sustainable effluent management system that minimises the discharge of treated wastewater to the receiving environment.
The project also aims to optimise the sewerage treatment plant's storage capacity, improve effluent quality management, and support future population growth without increasing environmental risk.
Key Features
- New effluent lagoon.
- New waste water treatment plant transfer pump station.
- New irrigation network including the distribution pump station and irrigation network.
- Improve scour protection to the TMR Crawford Bridge.
- Ecological continuity. Rock ramp fishways offer a more natural, low-velocity flow environment suited to a wide range of native fish species and life stages and improve overall fish passage outcomes.
