Council manages three key landfill sites across the region, helping safely and responsibly manage waste while supporting local communities. To ensure these sites continue operating efficiently, targeted investment is being delivered through landfill cell developments at Jandowae, Tara and Wandoan. 

Winfields Road Jandowae Landfill plays an important role in servicing the local community, providing a safe and accessible facility for general waste and recycling. A $1.7 million investment in a new landfill cell will support the ongoing operation of the Jandowae site, helping ensure waste is managed responsibly and in an environmentally sustainable way for years to come. 

Additionally, the Tara and Wandoan landfills will have new cells excavated to support ongoing operational capacity.
