Chinaman's Lagoon - Miles

In partnership and close collaboration with the Miles community, a range of improvements will take place to maintain the lagoon as a valued recreation destination. These upgrades will reflect local needs and priorities for day-today-day use and longer visitor stays.

  • Installation of new amenities to support increased visitation.
  • Construction of shade shelters and seating areas to improve comfort and usability.
  • Provision of barbecue facilities to encourage community gatherings and recreational use.
  • Delivery of a new playground to support families and increase lagoon activation. 
  • Development of footpaths and hardstand areas, suitable for RV parking and improved accessibility.
  • Installation of bollards to support site management and protect assets.
  • Lagoon landscape and aesthetic improvements.
  • Works to reduce surface water run-off and improve site drainage outcomes.
Project Outcomes

By combining improved recreational infrastructure with thoughtful environmental design, the project supports both immediate community use and the long-term sustainability of the site. The Chinaman’s Lagoon is a welcoming and functional space located just outside of Miles on Dogwood Creek.
