Councillor Peter Saxelby has resided in Chinchilla for almost thirty years and is excited to continue to make positive change for the Western Downs in his second term as a Councillor.
After being raised in Dalby, Cr Saxelby later settled in Chinchilla and has since become very passionate about representing his community. Before becoming a Councillor, he worked in many different roles at Council, so he brings a range of vital knowledge to the table in order to help make important decisions for residents of the Western Downs.
Cr Saxelby loves meeting new people and working at community events and he endeavours to continue to make the community proud of Council’s work. He is constantly learning new things about the region and is looking forward to assisting his community as much as possible. Outside of work he enjoys gardening, cooking, travelling, farmers markets and vintage machinery. He is a ‘history buff’ and loves attending historical machinery shows and museums.
