Tara Showgrounds

The Tara Showgrounds is a well equipped venue with a number of areas and buildings within the grounds available for hire, creating the perfect location for hosting a diverse range of events from Agricultural Shows, Races and Festivals to Wedding Receptions and Celebrations.

Located on the edge of town, approximately 700 metres from Day Street (Tara CBD). The entry to the Tara Showgrounds is on Showgrounds Road next to the Tara Lagoon Parklands.

The Tara Showgrounds boasts are large main arena, sheep dog arena, over 70 stables, entertaining spaces, cattle and sheep pavilions and more!

The Tara Showgrounds has easy access to Tara Lagoon Parklands and walking tracks. Tara Showgrounds offers a tranquil location for your next event.

Travelling Livestock

Camping is only permitted where people are using the facilities to rest livestock being transported. Please note camping and resting of livestock is pending to availability of facilities, please contact Council on 07 4679 4000 to arrange booking and confirm availability.

Biosecurity

It is a condition of entry all livestock entering Tara Showgrounds must complete the biosecurity statement form, animals entering as part of an event will be captured under the event biosecurity plan.
