The Tara & District Art Exhibition returns to highlight the work of local creatives — view the work of the district's artisans and quilters at this limited-time-only community exhibition.

Art Entries

Artists and quilters from across the Tara & District are invited to submit work to the 2025 Tara & District Art Exhibition:

  • Artists may submit up to five artworks
  • Textile Artists may submit up to three quilts
  • Senior Art Students (aged 15 - 18 years) can submit up to three artworks
  • Each work must be accompanied by a completed entry form(PDF, 2MB)

Prizes

$100 prize money in each category. An independent judge will choose a winner from each of the following six (6) categories:

  • Painting & Works on Paper: $100
  • Textile Art: $100
  • 3-Dimensional Art: $100
  • Photography: $100
  • Arts & Crafts: $100
  • Senior Art Student: $100

 

 

Entries Close

Entries close on Friday 15 August at 4pm.

Artworks and quilts are to be delivered to Tara Customer Service Centre, 19 Fry Street, Tara QLD 4421, between 9am and 4pm from Monday 6 to Friday 10 October.

No work will be accepted outside these times unless by arrangement with Council’s Community Activation Officer, Amy Hallinan.

 

Official Opening

The Tara & District Art Exhibition officially opens on Friday 17 October from 6pm at the Tara Function Room. Entry to the official opening is free. Light dinner provided. Drinks available for purchase at the bar.

 

Exhibition Dates

The Tara & District Art Exhibition will be on show in the Tara Soldiers Memorial Hall from Saturday 18 to Sunday 26 October. Entry is by gold coin donation.

The Exhibition is open from 10am–2pm daily.

Workshops

Needing inspiration for the Tara & District Art Exhibition? Dabble in sculpture, watercolour and paint with Council's weekend workshops through September.


The Tara & District Art Exhibition is an ongoing partnership between Western Downs Regional Council and the Tara Steering Group committee.
