Ready Together Day

Get disaster-ready with your community this October with Ready Together Day, a jam-packed event featuring live entertainment, activities, food and drinks, and special guest appearances from NRL legend Shane Webcke and Australian comedian and speaker Sean Choolburra.

The Western Downs has experienced its fair share of wild weather over recent years, which is why it's crucial residents play their part in ensuring their homes and families are as prepared as possible.

To support residents to get ready, Council is partnering with local emergency services and support agencies to host Ready Together community day. With a variety of entertainment available throughout the day, attendees will also have the opportunity to gain face-to-face advice from emergency services and supporting agencies to prepare for the impacts of severe weather, and learn about the various support options available before, during, and after a disaster event.

Program of Events

2pm | Ready Together Day commences
Available until 5pm: Kids activities, disaster preparedness information stalls and live demonstrations with emergency services and support groups
Available until 6.30pm: Live Music/DJ afternoon on main stage, WDRC chillout area, food and drink vendors

2.30pm – 3.30pm | Sean Choolburra appearance, Main Stage

4pm – 5pm | Shane Webcke appearance, Clubhouse

6.30pm | Event concludes

Activities include:

 Inflatables (Extreme 28m Challenge, Monsters in Jumping Castle, Gladiator Arena, Human Foosball/Soccer), PCYC Laser Skirmish, Mini Golf, Field games (Brigalow Bush Carnival), WDRC Library/Chillout Tent with giant games.

Assistance provided through the jointly funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
