Queensland Seniors Month is a time to honour and celebrate the vital role older people play in our communities. There are a variety of inclusive events that bring people together, foster connection, and showcase the talents, stories, and contributions of seniors in the Western Downs region.

Chinchilla & District

Seniors Morning Tea Wednesday 8 October | 10am

Join us at the Chinchilla Cultural Centre Wattle Room for a relaxed and welcoming morning tea with fellow seniors in the heart of Chinchilla. Enjoy delicious refreshments, friendly conversation, and a chance to connect with your community. Whether you're a regular or new to the group, we’d love to see you there!

Travellers Movie Screening Tuesday 21 October | 10.30am

Enjoy a special screening of The Travellers at Chinchilla Cinema, a heartwarming film perfect for a relaxed morning outing.

Bookings are essential as spaces are limited.

Grandparents Day Tuesday 28 October | 10am

Celebrate the special role grandparents play in our lives with a joyful morning at the Chinchilla Library.

Join us for stories, morning tea, and activities that bring generations together.

Whether you're a grandparent, grandchild, or simply want to honour the day, everyone is welcome to share in the fun and connection.

Pioneer Park Seniors Morning Tea Wednesday 1 October | 10am

Join us at 10am in Pioneer Park for a delightful morning tea. This relaxed and friendly gathering is a wonderful opportunity for seniors to connect with friends, enjoy delicious refreshments, and soak up the beautiful surroundings of the park.

Lakeside High Tea Monday 20 October | 10am

Celebrate Queensland Seniors Month in style with a serene Lakeside High Tea at the picturesque Lake Broadwater at 10am. Surrounded by nature and good company, enjoy a morning of delicious treats, warm conversation, and gentle entertainment in one of the Western Downs’ most tranquil settings.

Seniors Bingo in Jandowae Tuesday 28 October | 9.30am | RSVP Required

Whether you have 'Legs Eleven' or 'Two Little Ducks,' on your Bingo cards, test your luck with classic bingo games, and share a morning tea with friends and neighbours. It’s a great way to connect, laugh, and celebrate the contributions of seniors in our community. This is a special event to honour the contributions of older residents in our community. Everyone is welcome!

Seniors Music @ Mary's Thursday 30 October | 9.30am

Join Ningana, Karingal and Western Downs Regional Council for a morning of music at Mary's Place. Listen to soothing melodies and classic tunes, followed by cake cutting and light morning tea.

Tara Seniors Morning Tea Friday 10 October 2025 | 9.30am

Join us for the Annual Tara Seniors Morning Tea as part of Queensland Seniors Month at 9.30am at the Tara Function Room.

Enjoy a delicious morning tea, followed by a round of Mystery Bingo, where the calls might include classics like “Legs Eleven," (11) or "Two Little Ducks," (22.) Expect a few unexpected twists and plenty of prizes!

Chinchilla Cinema Bus Trip Movie Screening 'The Travellers' Tuesday 21 Tuesday | 10.30am

Join us for a special Seniors Month outing to the Chinchilla Cinema for a screening of The Travellers, a heartwarming film celebrating journeys, friendships, and life’s adventures.

Enjoy the comfort of a cinema experience with fellow seniors, followed by a relaxing return trip to Tara. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect, unwind, and enjoy a day out.

Cost is $2 for a movie ticket and return transport on the bus from Tara.

Afternoon Melodys & Light Lunch Barefoot Bowls Thursday 16 October | 9am - 3pm

Celebrate Queensland Seniors Month with a full day of fun, music, and community at the Tara Bowls Club!

Barefoot Bowls from 9am, kicking off the morning with some friendly competition on the green. No experience needed, just bring your enthusiasm! A delicious lunch is available for purchase at 12pm, followed by afternoon melodies with Terry Arnold from 1pm- 3pm.

Whether you're bowling, singing along, or simply enjoying the company, this event promises a relaxed and enjoyable day out for seniors in the Western Downs.

Miles & District

Wandoan Seniors Morning Tea Wednesday 15 October | 10am

Celebrate Queensland Seniors Month with a morning of wellness, wisdom, and fun at the Wandoan Cultural Centre. 

Start the day with a gentle Chair Yoga session to stretch, relax, and energise.

After morning tea, test your knowledge and have a laugh with some light-hearted trivia and quiz games, perfect for sparking conversation and friendly competition.

Miles Seniors Morning Tea Wednesday 29 October | 10am | RSVP Required

Join us at 10am for a delightful morning celebrating our seniors with music, morning tea and cake cutting.
