WDRC provides a number of new traineeship and apprenticeship opportunities across the region throughout the year with vacancies advertised on Council's website and Facebook page. We are looking for driven, friendly, passionate, and confident individuals, with a can-do attitude to join our team as a Trainee or Apprentice. You'll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a variety of areas while being fully supported throughout your study. Paid fixed-term employment for the duration of your course (Apprentice & Trainee wages apply) Nationally-recognized qualification Hands-on experience within a diverse organisation Online and face-to-face training with a registered training provider Experienced supervisors to coach, mentor, and assist you to be successful Supportive work environment Up to 3 internal department rotations (Business Trainees only), information sessions, and tours of Council facilities to better understand our business Industry work experience with a private business located in your community WDRC Apprentice and Trainee Industry Initiative Council is committed to ensuring our local apprentices and trainees are provided with the best start in their careers. The Apprentice and Trainee Industry Initiative provides local businesses the opportunity to place an apprentice or trainee in their business for a period of up to 8 weeks to gain additional skills and insights into career pathways. During the placement period, Council will continue to pay wages and cover the public liability of the apprentice or trainee.
