Councillor Peter Saxelby has resided in Chinchilla for close to 35 years and is excited to continue to make a positive change to the Western Downs in his third term as Councillor.
After being raised in Dalby, Peter settled in Chinchilla, working throughout the Western Downs region, and has since become very passionate about representing his community. Prior to becoming a Councillor, he worked in many different roles at Western Downs Regional Council, and so brings a wealth of vital knowledge to the table in order to help make important decisions for residents of the Western Downs.
Cr Saxelby loves meeting new people and volunteering at community and sporting events, and endeavours to make the community proud of Council’s work. He is constantly learning new things about the region and is looking forward to assisting his community as much as possible. Outside of work, Cr Saxelby enjoys gardening, cooking, travelling, attending farmers markets, art galleries and sporting events such as pony club, netball, rugby league and union. He is also a history buff and loves attending historical machinery shows and museums.
