Today we're shining the spotlight on one of our very own Western Downs Libraries volunteers Madi Kenna.
If you've joined in on one of our STEAM squad activities over the last few weeks chances are you would have seen this bright bubbly face.
Madi has been volunteering at her local library since she was in Grade 6 and the first thing she did after moving to the region with her parents earlier this year was put her hand up to volunteer at the Dalby Library.
As our newest volunteer Madi puts her love of organising to work, helping our staff with our Library programs and says volunteering has made the move to Dalby a lot easier:
"It's not just putting books on the shelf. I've made a lot of friends through my volunteering. The other day I came in when they were opening up to start the day everyone said 'Hi Madi' and I felt so welcome. I felt a part of something." #NVW2018

We're super excited for the week ahead as our libraries across the region are gearing up for National Simultaneous Storytime this Wednesday morning. 📖💫
In its 18th year, NSS is an Australia wide campaign encouraging young children to read and enjoy books. This year, we will be reading 'Hickory Dickory Dash' and invite you to join in the fun by bringing your little ones down dressed in their favourite cat or mouse character! It's never too early for our children to #readtalkplaysing, so we can't wait to see you there.
Find out more about your local session here: westerndownslibraries.com/national-simultaneous-storytime/
Registering your furry best friend doesn't just come with a shiny new accessory for their collar. Registering them with Council means we can bring them home safely if they get lost or wander not only that your fee goes towards helping our pound pets adoption initiative and making sure our off-leash dog parks are neat and tidy. Visit our website for more info on registering your pet: www.wdrc.info/animal-registration/
