Christmas Where the Gumtrees Grow
Returning for its fifth year, Christmas Where the Gumtrees Grows is a community initiative that encourages the region's rural residents to embrace the holiday season and show off their Christmas spirit — with a uniquely country twist.
Residents who live rurally are encouraged to decorate their property entrance with festive flair to go into the running to win great prizes. Whether it is a garnished gate, embellished equipment or bedazzled mailbox, join in on the festivities, jingle all the highway and help us celebrate Christmas where the gumtrees grow.
Entries close Monday, 18th December 2023 close of business.
Winners will be announced by Friday, 22nd December 2023.
How to enter
Residents are to take photos of their creations and submit their entries to events@wdrc.qld.gov.au, for their chance to win a selection of fantastic local prizes. Competition is open to Western Downs residents who reside on rural properties only.
