Council Facilities Christmas Closures 2023

During the Christmas and New Year festive period some of our Council facilities will be closing, or have changed operating hours:

Customer Contact Centres

Please be advised that Customer Contact Centres will be closed after Friday 22 December 2023 and reopen at 8am Tuesday 2 January 2024. For assistance or enquiries during this closure period please call 1300 COUNCIL.

Western Downs Libraries

Please be advised that all Western Downs Libraries will be closed from 5pm Friday 22 December 2023 and reopen at 9am Tuesday 2 January 2024. Online library resources will continue to be available during the closure period. Please visit www.westerndownslibraries.com for more information.

Waste Facilities

Please be advised that all supervised Western Downs Regional Council waste facilities will be closed on Christmas Day 2023, except for Winfields Road Landfill, Jandowae which will operate per usual hours (10am - 5pm).

Normal opening hours apply for all facilities on New Years Day and Boxing Day. Waste and recycling collections will proceed as normal throughout the holiday period.

Regional Pools & Aquatic Centres

Please be advised that all aquatic centres will close at 3pm Sunday 24 December. Days and hours of operation over the holiday period are as below:
