Only short time left to see Regional Artists’ Exhibition ‘Connections’

6 October 2015

There is only a short time left for residents to see the creative talents of artists from across the region at the Chinchilla White Gums Art Gallery as part of the Western Downs Regional Artists’ Exhibition Connections, with the Exhibition set to close next Wednesday 14 October.

Western Downs Regional Council Spokesperson for Community and Cultural Development and Health Services Councillor Carolyn Tillman said the Exhibition, which is in its second year, represents the collaborative efforts of the region’s three major art galleries.

“This year’s theme Connections, gives us an insight and sense of connection to something that is greater than ourselves, while inviting us to interpret the colourful and diverse stories that form the Western Downs and our communities,” she said.

“One of the many purposes of art is to make us experience something, and to bring us together, and this is not only reflected in the many creative and talented pieces of works on display, but also in the collaborative efforts of Dogwood Crossing, Miles, Chinchilla White Gums Art Gallery, and Gallery 107 @ Dalby to bring us the Western Downs regional Artists’ Exhibition.

“I’d like to applaud our region’s art galleries for presenting a wonderful exhibition, praise all the artists who contributed works, and extend special congratulations to the major prize winners Mary Tierney, Elizabeth Graetz, Helen Dennis and Elliott Graetz.”

The Western Downs Regional Artists’ Exhibition Connections runs until Wednesday 14 October at the Chinchilla White Gums Art Gallery.
