Newly redeveloped Dalby Regional Saleyards @ Western Downs to be officially opened

A new era in livestock sales for Southern Queensland will be launched on Wednesday 29 April, when Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries Bill Byrnes joins Western Downs Regional Council Mayor Ray Brown and Councillors to officially open the two-stage $12.6 million redeveloped Dalby Regional Saleyards @ Western Downs.

Now one of the largest saleyards in Queensland, this major upgrade of the Dalby Regional Saleyards, has seen more than four acres under roof, 310 new undercover selling and holding pens with a soft floor, water supplies for existing pens, Wi-Fi and technology upgrades as well as new modern automated drafting facilities.

The saleyards redevelopment also involved the construction of a new on-site Washdown facility designed to include treatment of the facility’s effluent on-site before it enters the town’s wastewater system.
