Local author Adele Jones brings debut YA novel to Western Downs Libraries

13 August 2015

Local author Adele Jones is bringing her suspense-filled debut young adult novel Integrate to the Western Downs Libraries when she drops by our Chinchilla and Dalby branches on Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 August.

Council Spokesperson for Community and Cultural Development and Health Services Councillor Carolyn Tillman said fans of young adult fiction, science and mystery will be inspired by Adele’s passion and imagination.

“Adele attributes her lively imagination to a childhood spent growing up on her family’s mixed-produce farms in the Brigalow-Chinchilla district, and her professional background in science brings a unique perspective to her writing,” she said.

“She’ll be giving back to the community she grew up in and spent many hours exploring as a child, by visiting Chinchilla State High School, and speaking to students from Dalby State High School and Our Lady of the Southern Cross College, as well as dropping into our Library branches for a meet and greet.

“Her first published young adult novel Integrate is a fascinating meld of mystery, suspense, and science, and the struggles of love, identity, and belonging encountered by the main character will resonate with readers both young and old.

“It’s always a joy to meet an author in person, and of special importance when there is a local connection to the Western Downs region. So, I encourage fans of young adult fiction, science and mystery to come along to one of our Author Meet and Greet sessions.”

Residents will have an opportunity to meet Adele Jones at the following sessions:
• Tuesday 25 August from 9.30am at Dalby Library
• Tuesday 25 August from 11.30am at Dalby Library
• Wednesday 26 August from 3.30pm at Chinchilla Library (refreshments will be provided)
