Miles CBD Streetscape Revitalisation

Western Downs Regional Council is delivering a revitalisation of the Miles CBD Streetscape as part of Council's COVID-19 Recovery Package to secure and create jobs and enhance the liveability of the region.

The project will transform the CBD into a vibrant, welcoming space which will activate the streetscape and encourage people to slow down, stop, visit and stay longer.

A community action plan has also been developed as part of the project in partnership with the local community to support and guide future activation of the area.

  • Service lane to access 'front in' parking
  • Improved pedestrian linkages
  • Interpretive elements such as a 'Wall of Greats', the Union long bar, cow and murray cod sculptures

    Project Status:  Underway - Tender process 

    The project is now in the tender process to determine the delivery of construction.

    • The project is estimated to commence in coming months pending tender process

    Target Completion Date:

    • The project is estimated to be completed by the end of 2021

    The project is jointly funded by Western Downs Regional Council and the Federal Government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
