Get in early to save on water bill

Western Downs Regional Council water customers can take advantage of a 10 per cent saving by paying their bills early.

  • Customers who settle their account in full on, or before, the due date of Wednesday 17 February 2016 will receive a 10 per cent discount on their water notice;
  • Council offers a number of easy and convenient payment methods to help with payment, including: paying in-person at any Customer Service Centre; by Australia Post; over the phone; or via BPAY;
  • Ratepayers who would prefer to receive their notices electronically can now also opt-in to get their water and rates notices sent to them by email, to download a copy of the ‘Request to Receive Rate/Water Notice/s Electronically’ form visit

Council Spokesperson for Corporate Support Ian Rasmussen said customers should be mindful of allowing plenty of time for Council to receive their payment.

“If you’re paying electronically, remember to allow enough time for Council to receive your payment as it can take up to four days, depending on your financial institution, for the payment to be processed. Also be sure to use the correct details and reference numbers on the front of your notice, as the biller codes are different to that of rates and gas notices,” he said.

“Customers who feel they might have difficulty paying on time can contact our Customer Contact Centre for help in arranging an instalment plan.

“If you haven’t received your notice, have any queries about your water notice, or want to know more about opting-in to receive your water and rates notices by email, please contact Council.”
