Council appoints a new Chief Executive Officer

Western Downs Regional Council looks forward to welcoming Mr Ross Musgrove to the organisation on Monday 29 June, when he takes up the reins as the new Chief Executive Officer.

Mayor Ray Brown said Council is excited to welcome a new era of executive management.

“After a rigorous nation-wide search, the Councillors and I are very pleased that we’ve been able to attract a high-calibre senior executive to manage this complex and multi-faceted organisation,” he said.

“Mr Musgrove is an experienced senior executive with a strong track record in public sector administration with a focus on improving customer experience.

“He recently served as both Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Director General in the Queensland Department of Premier and Cabinet.”

Mr Musgrove said he was looking forward to joining an innovative organisation.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to work alongside the many great staff at Western Downs Regional Council,” Mr Musgrove said.

“The Western Downs Regional Council has a reputation for being progressive and I know the region has a very bright future.

“I look forward to getting settled and working with the Mayor, Councillors and the great staff.”

Outgoing Chief Executive Officer Mr Phil Berting will retire on Friday 3 July 2015.
