Access more information on the go with Council’s new look website

21 October 2015

From Thursday 22 October visitors to Western Downs Regional Council’s website will be able to easily view and navigate information about Council on their smartphone or tablet, with the current website revamped and redesigned to make it responsive giving it a fresh new look and feel.

Spokesperson for Corporate Support Councillor Ian Rasmussen said that following community feedback after the 2013 flood events Council’s Corporate Communication and Marketing Team embarked on a major journey to redesign the website.

“The new look website was designed with our users and visitors in mind, as well as the need to keep-up with advances in smartphone and tablet technologies,” he said.

“After the recent flood events across our region, our community wanted to see a more responsive website that they could easily view and navigate on all their devices, be it a smart phone, tablet or desktop computer during natural disaster events, in an emergency, or while out-and-about in our region.

“With added functionality, and its new responsive design, Council’s new website is able to detect your screen size and work with both you and your device to optimise the view as well as provide ease of access to information about Council, its services, and living, visiting, and doing business in our region.

“Users can expect to see the same good quality content, quick links, and navigational menu, as well as some new features like an integrated news feed, real-time Social Media feeds, and testimonials from the community.”
