Some Western Downs Regional Council Notices are going digital with the transition to ‘Smart Notices’ that are sent via SMS direct to your phone, providing all the information of paper notices plus so much more.

  • Smart Notices are free, fast, easy and secure;
  • You’ll receive immediate access to view, print and save your notice, with flexible payment options including the ability to pay online via credit card or receive a payment reminder;
  • Western Downs dog owners will be the first customers to experience the trial switch to Smart Notices with the issue of Dog Renewal Notices in July;
  • With Smart Notices dog owners can pay their renewal, update their details and receive their dog registration tag – all without leaving home;
  • Make Smart Notices work for you — update your current contact details with Council by calling 1300 COUNCIL.

Council Spokesperson for Planning and Environment Councillor Andrew Smith said getting ready for Smart Notices is as easy as ensuring your current contact details with Council are up-to-date with your preferred mobile number.

“The convenience and in-built security of Smart Notices means you can pay your dog renewal at a time and place that suits you, as well as receive your dog tag all without having to make a trip to Council,” he said.

“We’re committed to improving our customer service, and Smart Notices provides a convenient and practical way for our customers to have immediate access to view and pay their dog renewal notices electronically. They can also notify Council if their details have changed, for example if the dog has been desexed since it was registered.

“If you’d like to make the switch to Smart Notices, it’s as easy as calling us on 1300 COUNCIL to make sure your current contact details are up-to-date.”
