Western Downs Regional Council has two operating sale yards. These yards are in Dalby and Wandoan. The Dalby Saleyards has the second largest throughput of cattle of any saleyard in Australia. The peak trend line has been steady at approximately 200,000 head per annum.
Advantages of selling in Dalby include scales, excellent facilities, low selling costs and proximity to meatworks, feedlots and feed-on properties. Dalby is in a "tick free" area so cattle can be transported virtually anywhere in Australia.
Dalby Saleyards are essentially serviced by seven agent organisations whose details are as follows:

Cattle: Prime & Store - 7:30 am every Wednesday.
Sheep: Sheep & Lamb - 10 am every second Monday. Please contact your preferred agent.
Wandoan Saleyards do not have a regular sale. It is only used for special stud sales etc occurring a couple times a year.
