With its $1.9 million makeover well underway and construction ahead of schedule, Dalby’s Knowles Pavilion is set to be the new home for upcoming events, cementing it as the place to be on the Western Downs.

Opening in September, the Knowles Pavilion will become Dalby’s first ever civic centre and will be a prime space for events with capabilities to cater for indoor and outdoor functions.

Council Spokesperson for Facilities Councillor Ray Brown is excited for the opportunities that the new and improved facility will bring to the Western Downs.

“Our region is already known for great events and this facility is only going to increase that as it gives us more opportunities to host both community and large-scale events for the region,” he said.

“From forums and expos to galas and performing arts, I am really excited to see many great events and functions brought to life in this new space.”

Managing Director of Martin Building Design Arthur Martin is very pleased with progress so far and confident that the well-presented function centre will be an additional asset and attraction for the region.

“There’s quite a bit to see there at the moment and it’s all moving along pretty well as contractors are actually a week ahead of schedule,” he said.

“Major things have started this week with air conditioning units to arrive shortly and earthworks for the new carpark and access road being done along with the fit out of the new function room.

“The building is getting a good quality makeover with great properties that will all contribute to making it a much more comfortable space that could definitely attract more events to our community.”

The completed project will include new air conditioning, excellent lighting, new glass and aluminium doors, acoustics, LED lighting, LED screens and a new dignitaries car park, giving the state of the art facility a new identity, perfect to host occasions of any kind.
