Embrace the joy of creating with Dogwood Crossing, Miles MiniMakers public program, where school-aged children can explore, engage and create in a number of hands-on informal sessions throughout the year.

  • Sessions are held on the second Wednesday of the month from 3.30pm to 5pm, and next month we will be exploring contemporary Indonesian art inspired by the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art’s Indo Pop touring exhibition;
  • Cost is only $5 per child, and all you need to bring is your creativity with all materials provided by the team at Dogwood Crossing;
  • There are a number of regular public programs run throughout the year at Dogwood Crossing, Miles and ample opportunities to be involved in other tours, talks, events, school holiday activities and workshops. For more information visit Dogwood Crossing’s website.

Western Downs Regional Council Spokesperson for Community and Cultural Development Councillor Kaye Maguire said our MiniMakers program draws inspiration from local creative community members and the Dogwood Crossing exhibition program.

“The MiniMakers program is a fantastic opportunity for children to explore their creative side and just have fun making stuff in a hands-on relaxed session with other kids their age,” she said.

“Every month the friendly staff at Dogwood Crossing mixes it up, drawing inspiration from our talented creative community as well as the current exhibition on display, from aboriginal art and exploring the little things, to investigating how art and science come together to create fascinating pieces.

“So, if you’re looking for a fun and friendly after school activity come along to Dogwood Crossing, Miles every second Wednesday of the month to explore, engage and create fantastic ‘stuff’.”
