Community Facilities and Services

Geographically spread across a vast region of 38 039km2, the Western Downs Regional Council has modern facilities such as Aquatic & Fitness Centres, Art Galleries, Museums, Cinemas and Civic Centres, which bring the feel of a metropolitan centre to the rural communities.

 

 

Environment and Health

The Environment and Health Section aims to provide a healthy environment for our people today and the generations of tomorrow. This section includes waste collection, waste disposal, animal management, environmental health, environmental protection, food hygiene, local laws, rural services and natural resource management. 

 

Planning and Building Services

Planning and Building services is responsible for Building, Plumbing and Development applications which include Material Change of Use, Reconfiguring a Lot and Operational Works applications.  Since the 1st of January 2010 Council has processed in excess of 1030 applications.

 

 

Saleyards

Saleyards of the Western Downs is an economic and operational overview of saleyards owned and operated by Western Downs Regional Council including Dalby, Wandoan, Chinchilla, Tara and Meandarra.
