Well-known Australian comedians Denise Scott and Tommy Little are bringing stand-up comedy to the bush this month, delivering a free night of non-stop laughter and entertainment to lift the spirits of our drought-affected communities when Not Just For Laughs 2 tours the region from Wednesday 24 August.

  • Following in the huge success of the Not Just For Laughs Regional Comedy Tour held last year, Not Just For Laughs 2 is bringing the star power to help cultivate hope and strengthen resilience in the Western Downs;
  • Denise Scott and Tommy Little will be bringing the laughs to Dulacca, Meandarra, Tara, and Wandoan from Wednesday 24 to Saturday 27 August;
  • Denise Scott, award-winning comedian and legend of Aussie Comedy, is well-known for her live shows and guest appearances on Spicks and Specks, Channel Ten’s The Project, and cast regular on Channel Seven’s Winners & Losers;
  • Tommy Little has toured the Australian Comedy Festival circuit doing successful shows at the Melbourne International, Sydney and Brisbane Comedy Festivals, and can be seen on Whose Line is it Anyway? Australia and Channel Ten’s The Project;
  • Tickets are now available, so get in quick to reserve your seats by calling 1300 COUNCIL or filling in our online booking form;
  • Not Just For Laughs 2 is a FREE community event, but RSVP is strongly recommended as it’s anticipated seats will fill quickly.

Western Downs Regional Council Spokesperson for Community and Cultural Development Councillor Kaye Maguire encourages residents and visitors to secure their tickets before it’s too late.

“With the huge success of our first Not Just For Laughs Regional Comedy Tour last year, we’re very excited to be able to bring another night of fun, entertainment and great comedy to our small communities thanks to funding from the Queensland Government’s Drought Support Package,” she said.

“We’re thrilled that Denise Scott and Tommy Little will be coming to the Western Downs to help support our families, farmers and landholders facing the hardship of drought.

“Event-goers can also expect to have their bellies filled by our wonderful community groups and organisations who’ll be cooking up a feast and operating a bar at each event.
